What I liked
The only thing we liked was the birth of our baby!
What could be improved
Better patient care
More involvement with the patient
The staff communicating with each other.
Anything else?
My wife's first epidural was not done properly which the head of anesthesia gave himself! He saw it was leaking but just said "we'll see how it goes."
When labour started she was told to push for two long and painful hours with no pain relief before being told the baby head had not descended. This ended up with her going into theatre and having the removed by forceps!
When the baby was safely delivered she was returned to her room where she was left in poo and bloodstained sheets and left attached to a drip that she no longer needed! No one even came to give her a wash! Also when she ask for pain relief it took hours and several reminders to get any and when the baby was sick on her cot sheets, they took the dirty ones away and again it took hours for them to be replaced!
There was only one midwife that had any interest in patient care and could not stop apologising for my wife's lack of care! The rest seemed more interested in chatting over handover!
We went to dorchester hospital because we heard lots of good reviews about it, but now we not recommend it to anyone! In-fact when we have our next child we are going to go private so that we can guaranty better patient care!
"Our overall experience of dorchester hospital was..."
