What I liked

I have had bad experiences of a&e departments in the past, being called stupid and being left for hours, but this was very different.

I went in expecting the same kind of treatment I have experienced before but was very suprised to be called in within half an hour of being checked in. I was expecting the same lecture about self inflicted injuries and how its stupid and doesn't solve anything and how it wastes their time (I understand why some may think this but I will only go to a&e as a last resort as I don't want to waste anyone's time). However the nurse that saw me in triage was friendly, polite, made good (normal) conversation and spared me the lecture. He asked if I wanted to speak to someone in psych (which I didn't feel I needed to) and offered to let me talk about the injury. He was very helpful and pleasent. He was efficiant and treated me with dignity and respect at all times. I felt as though I was being treated like any other patient would have been ( which hasn't been my experience in the past) and he even managed to make me smile.

Overall I was very happy with the standard of care i received. I was in and out in under an hour (which is unheard of on my previous experience) .

I would definately recommend this hospital if you have SH issues, that lovely nurse has restored my faith in a&e medics.
