What I liked
nothing. My husband was ill with cancer, they did not consult me on any of his treatment, on his death they treated me like dirt, not answering questions or explaining why a dnr was on him, nobody consulted me and his 13 year old daughter watched him die, without knowing about the dnr, and couldnt understand why ther was no attempt at rescusitation,
What could be improved
my husband was dyslexic, had a learning disability, was scared and was determined to survive. His records did not reflect this, they had "no religion" on his body after his death, he was strictly christian. I never got to have a funeral for him, the hospital told me they would contact me if anything happened, somehow, his brothers were next of kin, my husband would have not known the difference between contact number and next of kin, as he was in contact with me all the time, it would not have occured to him to put me as a contact. He told the Mcmillan nurse he wanted me there, the hospital staff knew I was his wife. there are other things with his treatment I am unhappy with. I have put 2 complaints in but had no reply, this is since April. They need to learn to treat people as human beings. They have to be stopped before they do this to someone else. As they have not replied, I am led to believe my husband would still be alive now if he had been treated properly. Dont let your family stay at Ealing hospital unless they have a voice and are mentally capable of ensuring their care is of a good standard.
Anything else?
no doubt they will not allow this on their site
"treated very badly."
