"initially at a+e great 2nurses on ward great..."

About: Fairfield General Hospital

What I liked

the worst hospital i have ever been to

im sure there are decent nursing staff at fairfield but these are overshadowed as is always the case by the staff who are very cavalier in the approch to there caring role and i use the word caring in the loosest sense of the term

from second day onwards at fairfield it was a nightmare

my visitors telling staff that my bed was wet at dinnertime and at handover that night the bed was finaly changed

What could be improved

a mistake on my paperwork after having rods put in my legg that the leg was weight bearing and so physios tried to get me to walk on it all weekend

come monday morning the surgeon was shouting at me that much that i left

(the surgeon later appolagised)

on the removal of my plaster i arrived at 2:50pm the appointment was for 3

at 4:30 i am finaly seen not a problem hospitals are busy places but the member of staff cutting the plaster off wanted to go home exactly on time

at 5 and so is in a rush as i am the last to be seen

i had not used the leg for nearly 3months and so had a bit of foot rot and thick dead skin on my foot and leg when i asked that it be washed off to put my socks on the very curt reply was do it at home and i was expected to leave (which i did) on a leg that i had not put any real weight on in almost 3months and that was covered in rotten flesh

Anything else?

the pain was excruciating and took nearly 10min to walk to the doors nevermind try to get 3busses home

infact the plaster person overtook me on her way home as i was struggleing to get to the front doors at outpatients and again curtly tells me i should have asked for another crutch never thinking (in her rush for a le-mans start at knockoff time)that i also had 2screws in my other wrist and couldnt use 2 crutches if this persons only job is to cut plaster off then you could train a monkey to do that and save on wages

never have i been in a hospital and been treated like that

and i certainly wont be going again what a disgracefull state of affairs and there adamant that we as
