What I liked
After a second attack in two weeks of gallstones/pancreatitis and was hospitalised in Norfolk for the first, decided to travel home to Lister Accident & emergency dept. I was rushed straight into majors where a cannulae was inserted to initially give me pain relief. The staff then put up ivs and bloods were taken to confirm what I had. Throughout this awful painful experience the Nurses and the doctors could not do enough for me firstly making me feel comfortable with the pain relief and also keeping me updated as to what was happening. I was transferred to ward 8A and again the staff were second to none. The ward was spotless and from the housekeepers to the nurses again nothing was too much trouble. My consultant informed me that I would be operated on the next available emergency slot and after stabilising the pancreatitis true to their word I was first on the list and had a lap chole. Post op was given max pain relief and reassurance. I am now home recovering and would like to say from walking through the A&E doors to acutally been discharged from ward 8A although not a nice experience been so poorly the experience was made so much easier because of the kindness and help recieved throughout. Many thanks.....
