"A nice new hospital but lacking the size for the..."

About: Pontefract General Infirmary

What I liked

I visited Pontefract Hospital with my partner for a scan in which they where referred to. On arrival checking in was easy and straigh forward, the reception staff where very nice. We where then shown to the waiting room where we waited for 15 minutes as the my partner was seen ten minutes late in which we had no problem.

What could be improved

The scan was started to which my partner was told she hadn't drank enough water eventhough she had drank more than the letter said, they where told to get a drink out of the water machine in the waiting area. They went to use the machine and it was empty. We then informed a member of staff who said she would report it, so it would be refilled as they are only refilled once completley empty. My partner then asked where else they could get water from and we where pointed to anoher water machine which was empty. After about 30-40 minutes or waiting the water machine was eventually refilled so they could eventually get a drink. Then about 20 mins later my partner was recalled to completed a scan. This turned a ten minute appointment to about an hour and ten minutes.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the delay in refilling the water dispenser. This service is provided by our partners, Balfour Beatty, and we will bring this incident to their attention.
