What I liked
This was my second stay at Good Hope in two weeks. I was initially admitted via A&E following GP referral and received medical treatment on ward 7 for three nights/four days. Could not fault the service at all, in any way shape or form. The A&E staff were excellent, as were the staff that conducted my scan and subsequently all of the nurses on ward 7. During my stay I can honestly say that I was treated with respect and dignity at all times.
On readmission for surgery two weeks later, I am so pleased to report the same. Admission to the day case centre was swift with the staff totally in control (which is exactly what you need when you're nervous). I was told that I would be going to theatre at around 2pm, I actually went at around 2.10pm, but who cares about 10mins, and anyway I was told "about 2pm".
Recovery team were great as were the staff on ward 16, who had their work cut out when I was on there.
I have nothing but praise for all of the staff I encountered during my stay - they are all worth their weight in gold.
I found the fabric and workings of the hospital to be clean and efficient, the staff kind and caring.
What could be improved
Whilst I found the food good it was also limited and those of us, like me, who were restricted to a light diet and having "gone off" certain foods due to illness struggled to find something that met the appetite.
"Based on my experience I would have no hesitation..."
