"My visit lasted 40 mins which was brilliant"

About: Knowsley NHS Walk-in Centre, Huyton

(as the patient),

I had an operation and one of the wounds had come open so I visited the walk in centre as it was local to my home. On arrival I spoke to the receptionist who was very helpful indeed and I was told that I would be seen by the Triage which should take about 10 Mins. I was seen by the Triage within 5 Mins and told to wait to be called in to the treatment rooms. I waited for about another 10 - 15 Mins and was called through. I was taken into a cubicle where a nurse cleaned the wound and redressed it and advised that as the wound was a week old they would not be able to stitch it and that all they could do was pack it with a swab and I was to return on Friday so as they could have a look at the progress and redress the wound. All in all my visit lasted about 40 Mins from entering the building and leaving which I think was brilliant. This walk in centre is always the same and it saves me from waiting to make appointments to see my GP or waiting in the A&E department at the hospital.
