"Frustration."

About: Darlington Memorial Hospital

What I liked

The level of caring by nursing staff could not be faulted.

What could be improved

Having been admitted with a broken shoulder that requires surgery my mum has now been waiting in hospital for 9 days, seemingly no further forward, with no idea when the operation may take place. The process of keeping patients "in the loop", letting them know what's happening and what's about to happen (though it does rather seem like nothing is happening or about to happen) seems very lacking. In the meantime mum is just in constant pain, bored, frustrated, worried and getting depressed. Other than the pain, those sentiments are shared by the rest of the family.
