today 11/8/2011 i attened the x ray department in the K T C i parked in the disabled parking bays as i am a blue badge holder on my return i found out that i have to pay for parking

on searching around i did not see a sign that said disabled car drivers must pay

as i am lead to belive that blue badge holders do not have to pay for parking in othere hospitals such as nottingham or sheffield why do we have to pay when some times we have to attend the hospital 2 or 3 times a week

Thanks for your comments. As a Trust we try to provide the best quality services to all our patients and visitors and our car parking provision is also included in this aim.

Car parking charges are incurred so that the revenue can be used to ensure our car parks are maintained, providing safe and secure parking for all patients and visitors.

A number of disabled car parking spaces are provided outside of the car parks and are free of charge but unfortunately at times demand for these spaces outweighs availability. Therefore, disabled parking spaces available inside patient and visitors car parks are subject to the same charges applied to other users of Trust car parks.

We offer £9.00 seven day concessionary car parking tickets to long term patients and visitors ,which equates to £1.28 per day. These are available from the car parking office, in car park 6. We also offer free car parking to patients and visitors who receive benefits.
