"mental health"

About: Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health

(as the patient),

When I'm ill I find ringing the cpn or GP very hard. I have said I'm really unwell - but they're busy etc - so only a 5 min call after 3 weeks.

I told them I'm really bad and not coping - so they said they will see me in a couple of weeks. They said I can always ring - only I think they know I can't and what else could I say anyway. I told them I'm really bad and nothing was offered.

Thank you for your comment regarding difficulty you are having contacting your CPN or GP when you are unwell due to being told that they are busy and they will see you in a couple of weeks. The support you receive should be agreed with you in your care plan including contact details of who to get in touch with if you are feeling particularly unwell. I am sorry to hear that the arrangements in place for yourself do not appear to be meeting your particular needs and I would very much like to discuss this with you in order to ensure appropriate arrangements can be put in place.

I would be grateful if you could let me know the best way to get in touch with you to discuss this or alternatively you can contact me on 01912205716

Many thanks

Tony Quinn
