"A&E staff members - rude"

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

What I liked

Fracture clinic treatment prior to my re-visit was very professional, thorough and helpful.

Anything else?

I went to A&E after a visit to the fracture clinic for a replacement of a lost thumb splint which is required for my broken thumb. The nurse first chucked at me a size one splint which was the size of my little finger, I asked if she had a sized 5 splint as this was what I had, she came back with a 4 and said if that doesn't fit you will have to go to fracture clinic tomorrow. No effort to give advice or protect my thumb in the interim.

Member of staff was very rude and disrespectful walking away whilst I spoke to her. Did not represent the NHS in a good light whatsoever.

We're very sorry for the experience in A&E, although note your highly positive views of the service provided through the QEII's fracture clinic. We'll make sure that both teams get to read your feedback - especially our colleagues in the A&E team.
