What I liked
Suffered muscle tear at weekend. Overall visit was 4 hours ; saw Triage Nurse within 30 mins. and Doctor within 2 hours; saw that people were treated in priority not by time of arrival which was good, even though this meant I was seen later than some who arrived before me. Had Xray and was finally discharged by Consultant. Provided with crutches and cricket pad splint.
Staff competent, polite, professional and friendly; explained what was happening .
Whole process worked very well and timing was fine given low priority of my injury.
What could be improved
One small suggestion. When I went to XRAY dept, the radiographer was not there and the dept appeared empty. There were 5 or 6 patients waiting without knowing what was happening or how long wait would be . Believe radiographer was doing a CT scan elsewhere.
It would have been helpful if a note could be written on notice board to explain and advise how long wait might be.
The actual wait was only 15-20 mins as it turned out.
Anything else?
I have been a number of times to A&E and I have always been impressed by the service and the treatment by the staff.
