What I liked
I visited my mother in AAU. The department seemed clean and tidy.
What could be improved
I was surprised that when a doctor, nurse or other staff member approached my mother to check on her, take blood pressure/temperature or give drugs they rarely greeted her to say who they are or what they are doing. It is disconcerting to be treated as an object.
When mum greeted the people they would usually respond and when she asked what was going on she was generally told. I think it would help people feel more secure if they were informed what was happening to them. Mum is fairly confident and will ask, but I believe that very poorly people or the elderly may find it difficult or intimidating to do so.
"Confusing."
