"Nothing but praise"

About: Emergency ambulance service (Wiltshire) Salisbury District Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

My husband had an accident involving a circular saw in which he damaged his thumb and finger. I called an ambulance, and it arrived very speedily in just over 5 minutes. Not only was the ambulance fast, but the care my husband and myself received was absolutely faultless. The ambulance staff, Martin and Arran, were so reassuring and friendly, not only caring for my husband's injuries but identifying a previously unknown heart condition, sending through ECG results to the hospital.

Once at Salisbury General the care continued to be fantastic, and everybody that we came into contact with was wonderful. My husband was seen by a young doctor, Rasheed, who was brilliant. It really makes a difference feeling you're in good hands.

The surgeon did a fantastic job in attending to my husband's injury, and this high standard of care continued when we went back to have dressings changed, with the staff nurse Jo in particular giving us faultless care. All involved were so accommodating and kind.

So thank you to all involved - I have nothing but praise for you all.

Dear Red325

Thank you for taking the time to comment on our service and the care provided to you. It is always good to hear stories where the care provide is of a high standard and I will do my best to pass on your comments to the individuals concerned. As you can imagineour service is constantly operating at a fast pace and sometimes it's easy to loose sight of what's important. I am really pleased that not only did the crew attend to the injury with great care, but also had the awareness to recognise a heart problem with your husband and alert the hospital.

I hope that your husband is now fully recovered.

Yours
