"A key worker DIP helped me to get into guernsey house "

About: Guernsey House / Primary care addiction service Sheffield (PCASS)

(as a service user),

I started using crack then after a few months I started using herion and had to shoplift to support my habit. A key worker DIP (drug intervention programme) helped me to get into guernsey house and they got me a methadone script.

This is a good service but you do have to wait to see a doctors sometimes, it would be good if this service was in town where everyone could get to it better. I have just had a baby so a home visit from the doctor when needed would be great, apart from that this is a good service.

Thanks for taking to the to post about your experience of treatment at Guernsey House.

I'm pleased to hear that overall you think the service is good but obviously you have had to wait sometimes. We do our best to make sure that clients are seen on time whilst remaining flexible for clients that have immediate needs that must be dealt with and take longer than the planned appointment time.

We do have good transport links to Guernsey House but we know it isn't the easiest location for everyone so we currently offer two 'satellite clinics' - one at the Wicker Pharmacy and one at Hanover Medical Centre which you might find more convenient - please ask your doctor or key worker about how to access these and about home visits too.
