"Had to lie on the floor as there was no bed"

I am an ME sufferer, a condition that leaves me in chronic pain and means that I am reliant on prescription painkillers. However, due to a so-called "reorganisation" at my local GP surgery, I have been left without adequate pain relief for the last week.

I called repeatedly to my pharmacist only to be told that the prescription hadn't come through, and after eventually getting through to the GP surgery I was told that this was due to a reorganisation that was going on. This reorganisation has left me without the pain killers that I need to manage my ME, and has left me suffering in pain all week. I am very disappointed with the inefficiency of the service I have received from them.

This incident led me to admit myself to A&E at Frenchay Hospital as the symptoms of my ME got unbearable. I was put on their small emergency ward overnight, but was told to go home the next day by a doctor as there was nothing that they could do for me, so I was wheeled into the departure lounge. Once there I requested to be moved to a bed as I was unable to keep my head up and needed to lie down for support, but I was told that there was no bed available and so had to lie down on the floor of the lounge. I was shocked to be treated this way .
