What I liked
The ease of communication when phoning up to make appointments and ask questions.
The professionalism and friendliness of all the staff.
I felt that I was being treated as an individual, and that I was properly informed before making decissions about treatment, pain relief etc..
The building and facilities were modern and always very clean.
What could be improved
The meals could have been better. Luckerly, I had my family visit every day to bring me meals bought in the canteen downstairs.
The food offered in the ward didn't offer much in the way of protein (I'm veggie). Having just had an operation, I would have thought protien would have been an important aid to recovery being essential to tissue repair. I'd have liked to have seen more pulses, dairy, and even better quorn.
The lack of fresh vegetables and fruit meant that there was a significant lack of fibre in the meals. This was clearly an issue when seeing other patients that required huge amounts of laxative medicines to relieve their discomfort. I very much appreciated the muesli and smoothies brought to me by my family!
"Excellent staff and facilities."
