"A very positive experience"

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

What I liked

I gave birth to my son in May 2011. Initially i was disappointed as i was induced and unable to have the water birth i had planned on. Regardless i felt that the birth was a very positive experience which was due to the care that i received from all members of staff . i would definately recommend the unit to others.

What could be improved

My transfer from the ward to the delivery suite was delayed due to firstly a lack of space and then midwives which at the time i found stressful

Thanks for your feedback and for telling us that despite some initial problems with your labour, it all went well for you and your son. We'll make sure that your feedback is shared with the our maternity colleagues. You might like to know that from October 2011, the Trust is creating a single maternity service at the Lister through the final opening of a brand new unit that will replace the previous services at both the Lister and QEII. It will bring mothers, who have their babies in hospital, a great deal more choice over the birth of their babies.
