"Efficent, expertise, good food, caring..."

About: Castle Hill Hospital

What I liked

Organised and efficent. Hygiene and general cleaning very good. Food was exceptional for a hospital, hot and tasty. General atmostphere very good. Staff where efficent thus only had a small amount of time (no doubt due to staffing levels) to interact on a 1 to 1 basis. Medical wise the place cannot be faulted. They will do everything possible to give you the best care available. I had a quadruple heart bypass and now, 4 months later, i am fitter than i have felt in many a year. Many thanks to all the nursing, surgeons and auxillary staff and a special thanks to the comedians who wander the wards looking for their next victims otherwise known as the anaesthetist.

What could be improved

Dragging me by ambulance to the hell hole that is A+E at Hull Royal 24 hrs after discharge due to a chest infection was beyond belief. Patients who have had major heart operations and find theselves in difficulty should be taken directly to the Cardiothoracic wards at Castle Hill where the immediate expertise is available rather than layed on a trolly been ignored and in dire trouble at HRI. This is not an isolated incident having spoken to ex patients and staff at Castle Hill. Sort it out somebody!

Anything else?

To all involved in the Cardiothoracic wards at Castle Hil. I and many others thankyou as you have the most vitaly important jobs, which cannot be surpassed, in the world. You give life to people, nobody can beat that.
