What I liked
I entered Queens on 15 June for what was to be a 48 hour stay. Post surgery I was admitted to Ocean - lovely staff, all very helpful. However, there was a problem with my blood and I had to remain in the hospital for a further 10 days. Staff and facilities were excellent,
A few days after my discharge I had a blood test and it was necessary for me to return to the hospital. I came in via A & E and was sent to Amber ward - again treated well for the 6 days I remained in the hospital.

What could be improved
Only two complaints - food is abysmal and the process for getting out of the hospital once discharged is very poorly managed.
I needed prescription medicines to bring home with me on both occasions and ended up going home without them and coming back on the following day to colect them. This situation does need addressing.
Anything else?
I am aware that there have been some adverse comments about Queens and felt I needed to redress the balance. My experience was a good as it could be, bearing in mind my long stay.
I have nothing but praise for the staff in both of the wards and also in A & E
