"Fantastic caring staff who put me at..."

About: Broomfield Hospital

What I liked

I went for a HSG (which any women will tell you is not something to look forward to and nerve wracking). The letter was confusing as it said radiology, which there are 3 different departments and even the reception staff got confused. Finally I was sent to the Xray department.

The nurses and radiologist were really considerate and caring. They explained every step and reassured me and made sure that if I had any questions, they gave simple answers.

The assistant radiologist even held my hand whilst they did the treatment, which was a really nice touch as I had to go on my own. It was over really quickly and wasn't as bad as I thought (pretty much like a smear). The best advice I can offer is to find something interesting to talk about to distract you and if you get the same staff as me, you will be absolutely fine. The staff did a fantastic job at demonstrating how lucky we are to have an NHS, even if the people in offices sometimes make it difficult for them to demonstrate this.

Thank you for being such caring people and I would definitely recommend the level of care to anyone and why pay for private (even if you can afford it) when we have such fantastic nurses/hospital teams.

What could be improved

better explanation of the department to go to on the letter
