What I liked

I had a colonoscopy on the 6th July and I have to say how lovely everyone was in the endoscopy unit.They made me feel at ease and even made me laugh.A lovely student nurse held my hand and chatted all the time the procedure was being carried out.Then when it was finished I had the best cup of tea ever.Thank you all so much.

What could be improved

Nothing in my case,it was all good.

Anything else?

I would like to have discussed the results of the colonoscopy with the Doctor which I understood from the paperwork I was given would happen.

Thank you very much for taking the time to tell us about your experience and I am really glad that it went so well. I'm sorry that you didn’t have the discussion as you were expecting - it would be difficult for me to say exactly why this was in your case but sometimes we need to wait for biopsy results for example and sometimes the doctor can be carrying out a number of these tests one after the other and so not able to talk to patients in-between.

In this situation you would have been either informed of your results via your GP or at a follow up appointment. That said - that isn’t what you were expecting so the paperwork didn’t explain this very well to you. I have passed your story onto the service at Lincoln County and asked them to review their literature so it is clear for patients.

Thank you again for feeding back to us - even after such a long time (we have only just set up systems for reviewing and responding to stories here at Patient Opinion) - and, I am also glad that the cup of tea was a good one!
