What I liked
I found a lump in my breast in April. I saw my doctor at lunch time and by four pm the hospital had called me with an appointment for the next week. I cannot praise the doctors and the breast care nurses too highly, they are very very friendly but very professional in the way you are taken care of. By May I had had two operations to remove the cancer and have been given the all clear and the nurses were as pleased as I was with the news. The whole clinic is a cheerful place and I was made to feel as though I was the only patient that needed help and support at such a worrying time, you are always met with a smile and a cheery "hello how are you?"
If only all hospitals were of the same high standard
What could be improved
Nothing in the breast care clinic but the ward I stayed overnight left a lot to be desired..
Anything else?
I was put in Nason ward overnight and was not offered anything to eat or drink although I had not eaten anything since 7.45am and had not drunk anything after 9.45am. I had to wait until the trolley came round with the morning tea which is a long time to go without any thing
"Extremely well run and the whole team..."
