"Repetitive information giving"

About: Rotherham PCT

(as other),

The waste/duplication/inefficiency I want to tell you about is:

Repetitive information giving. I know about this because I have heard patients saying "not again, more information! I've already given it once".

I support the organisation in making sure that the voice of patients and the public is heard and used in planning services. This involves running events, managing surveys, and building networks with the local community.

This comment was posted from our Stakeholder event in June. We are asking for help in identifying waste and inefficiencies within health services, as we want to make provide the best value we can for public money.

A full report of the event has been sent to attendees and NHS Rotherham Board. Details of specific actions and issues have also been passed to commissioning staff for action.

Specific Issues Raised Above

It can seem a real waste of patients - and staff time - when people are asked to repeat information about their condition. Often, however, this is a mechanism to make sure that information is correct, and that nothing has been forgotten or omitted, and helps to prevent errors.

Many thanks for your comment.
