"GPs and voluntary sector could work more closely"

About: Rotherham PCT

(as other),

The waste/duplication/inefficiency I want to tell you about is:

Ensuring that GPs and voluntary/community sector communicate and work in partnership.

Voluntary work front line can recognise potential problems/obesity/mental health etc > prevention. GPs > intervention

I support the organisation in making sure that the voice of patients and the public is heard and used in planning services. This involves running events, managing surveys, and building networks with the local community.

This comment was posted from our Stakeholder event in June. We are asking for help in identifying waste and inefficiencies within health services, as we want to make provide the best value we can for public money.

A full report of the event has been sent to attendees and NHS Rotherham Board. Details of specific actions and issues have also been passed to commissioning staff for action.

Specific Issues Raised Above

There were a number of comments about health services and commissioners working more closely with other organisations.

I will look into this over the next few months, as this is an important issue for the future, especially in light of new structures in health.

Many thanks
