About: Adult community services / Nutrition and dietetics Rotherham Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

As a recently diagnosed sufferer of Coeliac disease I was surprised to find the supply of foodstuffs available on prescription had been taken from my GP into a service at the local PCT.

After initial consultation with a dietician I received my monthly prescription. Unfortunately I missed my follow up appointment with the dietician and when I called to renew my prescription i was told that my prescription foodstuffs had been placed on stop.

Sadly my Coeliac disease could not be put on stop so I have had to revert to purchasing very expensive foodstuffs while my GP writes and gets me placed on the register again. However I shall at least be able to bring this to the attention of my consultant at my next appointment!
