What I liked
I first visited A&E minor injuries as I had snapped my achilles tendon playing football. I was seen promptly and even though the initial diagnosis was correct, I was sent for an x-ray to ensure nothing was also broken. This whole process was done with a few hours and all the staff I met were very professional and caring. I opted for an operation to correct the problem and the Consultant performed corrective surgery under a local anaesthetic a few days later. All the information I needed about the operation was explained in terms I could understand and the actual procedure was undertaken with incredible care and I returned to Ward 11 where I stayed overnight. The staff on the ward were fantastic and worked really hard to ensure all the patients were looked after. I also noticed just how clean everything was kept and how much work went into sterilizing all the facilities as each patient left. The physio got me up and moving just as soon as I was ready and nurses ensured I had everything required to continue my improvement once home. Overall the complete end to end care from the initial assessment, through the operation and after care in the ward was absolutely fantastic and I could of not asked for better help. Thank you to all the staff who helped. A perfect job
Anything else?
I hope the comments I have put above are passed on to all the staff concerned as we sometimes hear the negative points about the NHS but it is so important that people know when they have done something so good as this was certainly the case in my experience.
