"Ashley House have provided help and arranged counselling"

About: Ashley House / Substance Misuse Service

(as the patient),

Ashley House Widnes have provided help and arranged counselling to help with my depression and low self esteem, which was the root cause of my drinking. This started in Runcorn yet a satellite support group called C.I.C (Community Integrated Care) continued to support me every Friday morning, even though I had moved back to Liverpool.

I see my Son every week now, we go bowling and play football. I'm about to go back to work.

C.I.C have been brilliant and although I've tried AA, medication and long term counselling & my GP have worked for me.

Thank you for making us aware of the positive changes you have made in your life and how services have helped you to achieve this.

I think it is also important that we are able to share cases such as yours to others with similar problems to those you had as it demonstrates to them that recovery can be a realistic goal.

In regards to treatment options in Ashley House I would point out that we try to use the approach that best suits the individual ,in your case that was counselling and specialist prescribing while for others a 12 step approach might be best.
