"Brilliant set of values for elderly people"

About: Warrington Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

My elderly mother, who has chronic ill health, was able to go to the hospital bypassing A&E as a specialist nurse in the community was involved in her and other patients care. This is a very good service that GP's and nurses can use to prevent unnecessary admission and make things as nice as possible for frail elderly people.

My mother was assessed and was cared for on a B ward at the hospital. She had treatment from the Consultant Dr Khanna and his Senior House Officer Dr Akram. They run a system on the ward where the medical team make themselves available to talk to relatives even at evening visiting. This was such a good system.

This medical team operate a brilliant set of values for elderly people. I wish they could take over all elderly care in health and social care :-)

My mother improved after her treatment mainly because the assessment was so spot on and so the right treatment could be organised.
