What could be improved
They only have a short period of time between appointments and mine wasn't with the consultant. Something I'd liked to have known before booking.
I have tried numerous things over five years for my chronic scrotal skin problem, most treatments coming via an Internet forum for people sharing the problem. Posters there have said how interested their dermatologist was when being told of the forum: not so here.
I gave a list of various things I've tried but they had no new suggestions. And things which I forgot to put on the list, which have worked for people, they didn't mention.
I was prescribed steroid cream and told that if it doesn't work to go back to managing the problem as I have been (live with it). Despite being the only genital dermatosis clinic in the north east I got no impression of them having specialist expertise in dealing with chronic scrotal skin problems. This was like a consultation with a GP not a specialist.
