What could be improved

My son was taken to A+E with a severe wound to his foot which was x rayed but was told he had no broken bones so it was stitched and dressed and told to see the nurse every three days for re dressing.I then received a telephone call the following evening saying he had actually cracked a bone and a appointment was made in fracture clinic for him i do not fill that this should of been missed in the first place, and i no this is not a rare occasion as the same thing happened last year with my husband and his broken shoulder and friends have had the same.

Anything else?

Fracture clinic i thought were very thorough it seems the cracked bone on my sons heel is not to bad but the wound on his heel needs to be looked at bye the Plastic Surgeon so i was given another appointment for fracture clinic and told i would see Plastics at the same time if they did not contact me prior to my appointment back at fracture clinic which they did not.So when we attended our fracture clinic the doctor was quite surprised we had not yet seen plastics and we would not be seeing them this day.I was told someone would contact me with an appointment and im still waiting i think the service of the RBH we have had is extremely shoddy and if A+E had reffered my son straight to plastics we would not still be waiting so i fill they failed my son in not spotting he needed to see a plastic surgeon and in not spotting on the x ray that he had a broken bone.
