What I liked
I was treated on Ward 8 for a replacement knee. My treatment in the Hospital was excellent. The Surgery went well and all Staff were first class, helpfull and freindly . I was particularly impressed by the aftercare which I received once I had returned home. The "Team" came regularly to my home offering help and advice on how best to recover the use of my leg. It is now only 8 weeks since my operation and I am already playing Bowls and regularly taking walks of more than an hours duration. I would like to Thank all Staff at Fairfield, My Consultant and all his team, and also the staff behind the scenes who help to keep things running smoothly.
What could be improved
Only one small criticism. Discharge..... I was left without medication whilst waiting for my final discharge papers. I appreciate that Pharmacy staff possibly have lots of patientsbeing discharged at the same time but perhaps some provision could be made so that patients are not left too long with out pain relief.
"excellent is the only word that comes to..."
