"lack of care, and patronising attitude of a Dr that my Mum had an appointment with."

About: University Hospital (Coventry)

(as a relative),

My Mum saw a Dr regarding the results of her Endoscopy. When my Mum and sister said that my mum had been diagnosed with several polyps in her stomach after having the endoscopy, for which I was present, he said she had no polyps and that there was nothing in her notes about it.

Even when my mum told him that I had been present when given the results and had seen it in the report, he still dismissed it. My Mum had her blood pressure taken by a nurse, the reading was over 200. The nurse informed the Dr but he didn't see any reason for concern, despite the fact that my Mum has Angina, Heart Failure, Heart Murmur, COPD, High Blood Presure, and other medical conditions. The following day my Mum was admitted into hospital with high blood presure over 200 and fast heart rate.

Many Drs, Consultants etc lovely, and listen to what is said to them, but there are many whose manners are appalling.

Many thanks for taking the time to provide feedback on the service your mother received.

Without further details on either the patient or the staff who treated her, it is difficult to provide a more comprehensive response. If you or your mother would like to contact the Trust to provide us with more information so we can investigate what happened, you can do so via our PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) team, they aim to resolve your concerns before they become something more serious. You can contact them by phone 0800 028 4203 or by email PALS@uhcw.nhs.uk or in person through the Help Desk at University Hospital, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) 9am -12.30pm and 1pm – 5pm.
