"I.V.F process - checks should be done, but in a more professional way"

About: St Mary's Hospital (Manchester)

(as the patient),

My wife and I are proceeding down the IVF road with help from ST Marys hopital, all the staff have been great until i answered one question!

When asked if i had a child I replied yes explaining that i dont see them. We had to then go to counselling and were asked to explain the ins and outs of why i don't see my child. This has made me feel like i am on trial and angered me. I feel like they don't think I deserve a child.

I think that checks should be done, but in a more professional way. With the consent forms we sign, it seems to me that they're quite capable of ringing/writing to the relevent authorities to do checks, not put us in a room and question us in a way that has felt to me very suspicious.

I'm very disappointed and disgusted with the way they have treated me and my wife.
