"Elderly Care"

(as a friend),

While visiting Woodend Hospital Aberdeen noticed that one elderly patient was not offered a drink from the trolley when it came round and was informed that she had difficulty swallowing and that her throat needed to be rubbed - I noticed that none of the nurses at the desk bothered to come and see if she would like a drink.

In the one and a half hours, I was there, I didn't see any of the nurses come up the ward to see if the patients were alright and comfortable.

I can see you shared your experience on Patient Opinion some time ago. I am sorry that your experience was not a positive one. I will pass on your comments to the ward manager. We have only recently started working with Patient Opinion so please accept our apologies in not getting back to you at the time. If you have any further feedback about the experience you desciribed please get in touch.

We are keen to listen to stories of patients and carers and, going forward, we plan to respond quickly to all stories we are alerted to from now on.

Best wishes
