The patients forum has been a productive involving and openly frank experience for staff and patients at Wathwood. The forum is a patients chaired meeting run every fortnight allowing patients to openly express their views and have a timely response for the issues that matter to them.
We have developed strong links with Rosewood involvement centre allowing issues in the trust to be brought the forum and issues at Wathwood to be heard elsewhere in the trust.
We have also used this as a learning experience with local commissioners attending and explaining the role of case managers and having speakers talk about their experience and recovery. As a member of staff this really keeps us on our toes.
