What I liked
I came in last Friday for a dog bite at 8.00pm. A nurse attended to me, asked me to remove my wedding ring or would have to be cut for x-ray, I was asked to wait outside in main reception and would be called for x-ray. After few hours of waiting I left without x-ray and went home. Next day Saturday morning after a painful night I returned to A&E only to discover that I should have been given a x-ray form the night before and asked to wait in x-ray dept , I would have waited all night without being called for an x-ray as wasn't given a form. Most importantly my bite was not cleaned. The nurse I saw on Saturday morning very kindly cleaned the wound, sent me for x-ray and put me on antibiotics as I had developed an infection overnight on the uncleansed wound. Very poor service by first nurse on Friday. Very good service by both nurses on Saturday morning.
What could be improved
Better training and checklist for injuries. Supervision.
"There should be local Private A&E in all..."
