About: Samuel Johnson Community Hospital

What I liked

I got a small shard of glass stuck in my foot. it was really painful & I couldn't walk on it.

I only had to wait 5 - 10 minutes before a nurse saw me. She was very friendly & made me feel relaxed. She efficiently dealt with the glass, told me how to look after my foot, gave me some spare dressing for when I needed to change the one I had and she told me to come back if there were any ongoing problems.

I tried to make an appointment with my practice, Green Hill Cloisters, for the same thing, they told me I would have to wait two weeks.

I have tried to make other appointments with my practice & have had responses ranging from you can have an appointment in over a months time - to actually refusing me appointments. I once dragged myself in early to get an appointment to have my tonisilitus treated and i was turned away but the receptionist who told me that appointments had to be made over the phone so I had to walk back home, ring up & then come back to the doctors again an hour later!!!!

Any way the point is I really appreciate the hospital dealing with me so quickly and efficiently and not judging me. The nurse was really friendly and she didn't make me feel like I'd wasted her time or that I should have put up with pain for two more weeks because it wasn't serious enough to deal with.
