About: Sussex Orthopaedic NHS Treatment Centre

What I liked

Having taken over a year to decide to have my elective surgery, I chose this hospital on the recommendation of my physiotherapist.

Having previously had treatment for the same condition at my local hospital I was not willing to have my surgery there.

I requested a second opinion with the consultant who took the time to examine me properly and go through the options and surgery in detail.

From the phone call from the person who made my appointment, through to the receptionist, the nurses, the surgeon, the theatre staff and the ward staff I cannot praise them highly enough. You would not believe this was a NHS hospital.

I was treated quickly and with the best of care. I was VERY impressed and satisfied with my treatment.

One small fly in the ointment was a single member of the recovery team who didn't seem too invested in my care post op, but this was soon noticed by another member of staff who took over and gave me excellent care, as i was quite nauseous on coming round.

The food was adequate with a good choice, and the chef made me toast on request as i was still too sick to eat my shepherds pie.

The wards were very clean and i was in a 4 bed ward. The night nurse was fantastic.

I just cannot praise this place and the staff enough.

Would highly recommend!!

What could be improved

i cannot think of anything

Anything else?

I was very impressed with the fact this hospital has never had a case of MRSA.

Dear Ms Lamb,

Thank you for taking the time to comment on the level of service and care you received at the Sussex NHS Orthopaedic Treatment Centre. We are having an Open Day on September 24th from 10-4 which I thought you might be interested in attending. This will be a chance for the General Public, GPs, Past Patients and Future Patients to be shown around the Centre and to take a behind the scenes tour of Theatre. We will also have a stand which will be manned by our Past Patients who will be able to share their experiences with our Visitors.

I hope you are able to make it.

Kind regards,

Georgina Carley

Communications Manager
