About: Horton General Hospital

What I liked

After an unexpectedly bad labour I had to stay in hospital for six days. During ths time I had really great care from the wonderful staff at the Horton hospital. From the housekeepers to the head Midwife, the care was thorough, kind, supportive and much better than I expected. I was given a lot of support with breastfeeding which was really valuable. I was in a very fragile and weak state and was supported brilliantly by the lovely staff in the maternity ward.

In terms of the actual birth, the midwife care in the delivery suite was great and I was really well looked after. If I have another baby I would have no qualms about going back to the Horton, and would be very unhappy if I had to go to another hospital.

All in all I would really recommend the full maternty service at the Horton. 5 stars!

What could be improved

Perhaps I could have been given more information about how the ward runs, e.g. what time meals are. On the other hand, for the first few days all my meals were brought to me in bed, which was great.

Anything else?

The maternoty service and staff at the Horton are excellent - I would definately recommend them and would be happy to use the service again.
