"Outpatient Booking Centre inefficiency"

About: Ealing Hospital

(as the patient),

Last week I received an outpatients appointment letter dated 21 April for an appointment, for 5 days earlier! This was not the post office's fault as the postmark was 6 May. It would appear that the letter had sat around in the booking centre for two and a half weeks.

When I phoned to reschedule, I was told that was impossible as I had been discharged by the consultant and would have to go back to my GP and start again. I objected strongly and was again refused. I later received a call to say that the Booking Centre had relented was providing a new appointment. Today I received not one letter of confirmation from them of the new appointment, but three separate letters. I feel that this is a waste of my time, NHS resources and I believe this shows that, in my case, your booking system has been inefficient, unreliable and in general disarray.
