What I liked
My experience of having my first baby at the north mid was really emotional and wonderful. all the midwives that i met were very caring especially the one who delivered our son. i unlike the other women was treated at all times with dignity and respect they even made my boyfriend tea and toast to keep him going i was in labour for 24 hours!! when i went to the ward it was very busy but the midwife who was looking after me and i think about 8 other mum's and baby's helped me with breast feeding and told me how to clean my stitches she did make time for me and that made me happy as i was nervous as it was my first baby and needed to be shown everything!! I will definately return and have my second baby I agree with the other lady that it would be lovely if they had a new labour ward, as this one really needs some decorating and modernising the new hospital is lovely why did they forget women having babies??
What could be improved
It would be really nice if there was a birth centre
Anything else?
i even met the head midwife after my birth, and the head matron when i was on the ward they both asked me about my birth and it made me feel really cared for , so i think you should tell them if you are not happy and i think they would help you. The community midwives who came to my house were also very good. I am already planning my next baby!
