What I liked

The layout of the ward is good and the level of cleanliness very good

The consultant seemed to give my aunt very good explanations of her condition and her treatment

What could be improved

In order to save clinical staff time I accessed Royal Blackburn Hospital website to find out the visiting times of the ward

Whilst there is a area on the hospital's website for visiting times the advice offered is to ring each ward to find out their bespoke visiting arrangements

I think this is an example that the management and the IT systems do not support clinical staff as they should not be interrupted in their care giving duties by unnecessarily answering the telephone to give out information about visiting arrangements that could so easily be made available via the hospital's website

Please can someone do something to stop this unnecessary waste of clinical time - it is a sacralidge!
