What could be improved

The ratio of staff to patients was poor. The attitude of some of the staff was appauling. Doctors did not read my notes correctly. I never saw the consultant and I rarely saw a registrar. I mostly saw doctors under the registrars, and I never saw the same doctor twice!!! Several items of equipment were either not functioning correctly or working at all!! The demand for beds is rediculous, especially as the beds are so far apart that at least 2 more beds could have been put in each 4 bed unit with plenty of space still to spare!!!

Anything else?

On departure I had a particularly insensitive doctor with a clear lack of respect for my privacy who was obviously not used to doing departure letters for people who's health problems were not rectified on departure. I ended up leaving the ward in tears without my departure letter after the said doctor completely humiliated me. Needless to say I do not want my operation at pinderfields and will consequently be having it at dewsbury hospital.
