"I could not have received better care..."

About: Tameside General Hospital

What I liked

I received a thoroughly caring and professional service from one doctor who listened to everything I had to say and responded accordingly. I felt part of "the" team and that all decisions were inclusive. This doctor always follows up consultations with a telephome call to assess how you, the patient, has responded to any treatments given. I am a grateful and respectful patient and feel lucky to be under this doctor's care. God bless the NHS.

What could be improved

I was surprised that patients who had to be weighed, measured and have their blood pressure taken were not attended to in a private room. The technicians did the procedures in the corridor with all the other patients, who were waiting to see their doctor, were able to view the procedures.

Some of those people were commenting on the results; "she needs to diet;" wow, look at that blood pressure; etc! I think it needs addressing and a suitable alternative provided. I am not too sure if these patients were part of the doctor's clinic but they were in the same area where the consulting rooms were,

Thank you for posting these comments. I am pleased to see that you received a very thorough service at Tameside Hospital.

I am not sure exactly which area you attended, though it was clearly a clinic. I will bring your comments about what could be improved to the attention of the staff responsible for this area.

Many thanks
