"Mildly Satisfied"

About: St Mary's Hospital (Manchester)

What I liked

I had a couple of issues with St.Mary's hospital staff before I went in for my first scan. My 12 week scan was delayed due to administration mistakes at the hospital. I had my first antenatal scan at 14+ weeks which resulted in my not being able to go for the Nuchal Translucency scan. I was then offered a Quadruple Test for DS which I did not want to go ahead with. During my scan, I found the sonographer in a hurry. She did not show us our baby clearly, did not try to explain much what we were looking at. All I could notice clearly was the head and some part of the limbs and hands. She failed to understand how important such a day is for prospective parents. Her interest seemed minimal.

What could be improved

A more personal treatment of patients especially during the scans could be really helpful and reassuring for the parents during some very anxious times.
