"if it wasnt for the post natal ward...It..."

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

What I liked

the antenatal ward and labour ward were generally brilliant. Most midwives and student midwives were willing to listen to your concerns and acted sympathetically towards patients in these wards.

What could be improved

The post-natal ward was an experience from hell! The midwives in charge during the night shift on the 7th of July 2010 were monsters. They kept four of us new mums in a room where the toilet's sewage system was not working properly and it smelt all through the night. I litterally begged them to move me but they gave a flat no. i was left traumatized and cried for three hours before they got a cleaner in at about 3am in the morning to clean the toilet which left the room smell free until someone had to go and use the bathroom again. All you want after going through labour is to have some rest and those inconsiderate midwives in charge left me wishing I went straight home which wasnt allowed either. I really hope some head nurses from the ward read my comment and contact me as I will be happy to be of any assistance in bringing them to disciplinary action

Anything else?

Thank you to the lovely Midwives in the labour and the student midwife in the antenatal ward on the 6th of july 2010. you were the best thing about the hospital!
