What I liked
After A&E I went to the MAU ward where nothing was too much trouble. No matter how many times I was sick they cleaned me up without a fuss. When I finally got to go for a shower I came back to a fully changed bed a spotlessly clean room. All the staff I saw on MAU were fantastic.
What could be improved
I felt I was a long time in the observation ward off A&E. day arrivals were coming and leaving to wards quickly. I came in in the middle of the night and did not get moved to a ward until late afternoon.During which time I was in considerable pain and they had lost my drugs card and were unabe to give me pain relief. Eventually the staff nurse got an A&E doctor to come and give me some more morphine and after that point I seemed to be on somebodys list for moving.
Anything else?
I do not remember much of A&E but I felt everthing was delt with quickly. The night team handed me over in the morning and then it went a bit quiet on the action front. After transfer to the MAU it was fine, they were all fantastic staff.
