"Great Doctors and Nurses, great tea..."

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

What I liked

My 94 year old Mother was in hospital after falling on Christmas Day and breaking her hip. Mum was in at least two wards after her surgery and both of them were clean and the staff were great with her. She was discharged after a 5 week spell in hospital and then re-admitted after being out only 2 days.

On being re-admitted she was in ward D40, my Mother was treated with the utmost respect by the Doctors, Nurses, Aux Nurses, tea Ladies and the Cleaners at all times. If Mum needed anything they were right there for her seeing to her every need, nothing was too much trouble for them.

All the above mentioned people are a credit to the NHS and they are truly caring people who have a very difficult job to do. Their professionalism and dedication is second to none.

Sadly my Mother passed away and it was through no fault of the hospital or the staff.

My heartfelt thanks to you all for the nursing care you gave my Mum and the kindness you showed her. God Bless each and every one of you.

From a very grateful patients daughter.

What could be improved

Absolutely nothing as far as the Hospital or Staff go.

However I do think that the restaurant should be open at weekends. Maybe this will be looked into?
